Scholarships

Wendell J. Gallant Memorial Scholarship

To enhance the future likelihood of young people contributing to the business community of the Greater Summerside area, the Chamber will award a non-continuous $500.00 scholarship to an area student graduating from Grade 12.

Selection Criteria:

The student must:

(a) Have applied for enrollment in an undergraduate program at a university, or in a diploma program at a community college,

(b) Have a high academic standing and demonstrate school and community involvement,

(c) Attend, or have just graduated from grade 12 in either L'Ecole Evangeline or a senior high school of the Western School Board, and reside within the geographic area served by any of these schools, and,

(d) Be the son or daughter of a Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce member, or of a member's employee, with the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce membership being required by March 31st of the year that the scholarship may be awarded.

The scholarship will be awarded using Chamber selection criteria by the Scholarship Committee organized by the Chamber.

The scholarship will be paid jointly to its recipient and to the University or Community College at which the recipient has been accepted.
