John J. MacDonald - General Manager
As a
manager John J. MacDonald has been with The Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce since January 1996. As manager, John is responsible for promoting the economic and social welfare of the greater Summerside area. This frequently requires ongoing dialogue with the three levels of government.
The Chamber manager is also a key player in the creation of new initiatives to attract new members. Some of these areas include the availability of special VISA and Master Card rates to members, interactive social activities, and providing input into regular newsletters and Chamber publications.
John is a graduate of Athena Regional High School and Nova Scotia Agricultural College.

John resides on his farm in St. Nicholas, Prince Edward Island and is very active on numerous committees. Sits on the Environmental Management Committee for the East Prince Waste Management Facility. John sits on the Advisory Council for Centre for Life Long Learning - UPEI, School of Business, recently appointed to the Farm Practise Review Board and is a director on the Board for Canada Young Speakers for Agriculture.
